I.W. Harper is a brand that has existed since the 1870s, founded by Isaac Wolf and Bernard Bernheim. The name of their distillery is Bernheim, but the name "Harper" actually comes from the owner of a Kentucky Derby horse the brothers took a liking to. -
Impressions of raisins and walnuts are married to silky, dried red berry and currant flavors and aromas in this lush, finely structured wine, which shows a velvety, mellow texture supported by fresh, clean acidic notes. -
With the Dewar's 12 year old, Dewar's pioneered marrying in oak casks whereby the blend is put back into specially selected oak casks for up to 6 months to develop greater smoothness and a longer, lingering finish. -
Courvoisier VS Cognac is a blend of several crus aged between three and seven years (four to eight for Russia), composed principally of Fins Bois with a balancing hand of Petite Champagne. -
The features of this vintage are balance, complexity, and aromatic intensity. The typical richness of flavor and the inevitable elegance are evocative of tradition. It is a particularly rich, mature and deep Amarone also in virtue of the extraordinary climate of the vintage. It has an intense color with ruby-red highlights. Appealing on the nose, with hints of red fruit, prunes, and sweet spices such as cloves and cinnamon. The licorice, box hedge, thyme and nutty overtones develop later. It is caressing on the palate for the supple and elegant tannins, which add structure to the wine. -
Originated in 1862, Bacardi Añejo rum is original, mixable light-bodied, premium aged rum. Anejo, the ancient Castillian word for “aged”. Aged in oak barrels for 6 years. Bacardi Añejo Rum, is blended to achieve characteristic Bacardi smoothness. Dark brown rum distilled from fermented molasses. Añejo is certainly one of the favorites of the Bacardi Rum brand. The aged flavor of the blend comes through even though this is fairly light rum. Caramel coloring isn’t overpowering but present in this balanced, aged rum. -

The deliciously delicate Taittinger NV Brut La Francaise is strikingly buoyant and dominated by subtle scents of yeast-tinged flowers and foliage - honeysuckle and mint immediately come to mind - that allude to its roughly one-quarter Meunier component, with a luscious matrix of lime-drenched honeydew melon and apple well-supported by discreet residual sugar leading to a sustained and refreshing finish. Hints of toasted almond and vanilla-tinged cookie dough lend a faintly confectionary cast that manages to harmonize with the dominant fruitiness and florality, while piquancy of apple and lime pit serve for counterpoint. That Taittinger s standard-bearing cuvees (outside the U.S., the cuvee in question is called Brut Reserve ) are relatively short on Pinot Noir by standards of that genre is obvious on tasting.
