  • The La Scolca Black Label is sourced from the estate’s 60 year-old vines (average) with yields ranging from 70 quintals per hectare to 50 quintals per hectare for the oldest vines. Some vines, yield only 3-4 clusters per vine, encouraging concentration, depth and complexity. Vines are located on the hills surrounding the Villa La Scolca. Soils are of volcanic origin, composed of calcareous-clay with veins of chalky limestone similar to that found in Champagne and Chablis, giving a characteristic flinty character.
  • The wine has a deep, rich purple color. Intense red fruits are on the nose with black pepper spice and a touch of cloves and dried herbs.

  • Atlantico Reserva is their aged rum given a 3-part aging first for 3 years in American white oak, then blended and aged for an additional 2 years. Following is the solera aging of up to 15 years (solera being the tradition of retaining a portion of the oldest barrel to blend with the next oldest--we often think of the last portion of your gas blending with the new gas when you refuel your car... you can imagine there's a tiny part of the very oldest gasoline from your first tank in there somewhere).
