This whiskey is comprised of 95 percent rye and 5 percent malted barley. The lack of corn means that it cannot be considered a bourbon. Aged for 18 months in used Caribbean rum casks that were first used for cognac, the whiskey is matured for six to seven years in total. It weighs in at a flavorful 100 proof. -

The aroma carries lightly toasted oak, with dried figs and butterscotch. One sip brings flavors of sweetness balanced with tobacco and dark spices. The finish is just long enough to prepare the palette for another sip. The bottle itself is a likeness to Colonel Taylor's original design used over a century ago. -
The nose on this bourbon is really layered and full of flavor. Baked apricots stewed cherry and tasted oak spice lead the way in front of vanilla candies and buttered corn.
