Using a blanco base, Komos Reposado Rosa Tequila is aged in previously used red wine French oak barrels. Once the tequila has gone through a purification process, mellowed, softened and picked up flavors and colors from the red wine barrels - giving it a pink hue - it is stored and tumbled in amphorae. Mirroring the processes of a red wine, the tequila is then bottled in an opaque bottle, which preserves its color and aroma. Big, round and plush on the palate, the fresh agave flavors are met with vanilla, butterscotch, and a dry dark chocolate note. Blackberries, plums, and dark cherries leap out of the glass. The finish is long, rich, and very smooth, leaving the impression of chocolate covered strawberries behind it.
