• Crisp and refreshing, semisweet, with lingering pear, tangerine, nectar, and melon flavors on the finish. A perfect pairing with dessert or fresh fruit, or for  sipping poolside. This is a product of Italy, which has a storied heritage of producing some of the best wines in the world. • The Napa Valley Chardonnay offers fresh, lovely pear and ripe Granny Smith apple aromas with supporting mineral, baked bread and baking spice scents. Full and richly textured on the palate, the citrusy crisp, spiced-apple and pear flavors are enriched by yeast and toasty oak tones that extend into a very long, rich, minerally finish. Youthfully compact, with superb structure and an ideal balance of fresh fruit, acid and wood tones, this beautiful Napa Valley Chardonnay, one of Cakebread's very best, should develop in the bottle for another 3 to 5 years.--Winemakers Note
  • Vivid, crisp and bright - the brand new Avant Chardonnay continues the nearly three decades of pioneering distinguished varietal wines from California’s cool coastal appellations. Avant is very different from KJ's traditional rich, creamy styles of Chardonnay. Avant bursts with intriguing layers of fresh pineapple, bright green apple, crisp Meyer lemon, juicy pear and wildflowers. The wine’s refreshing acidity and sleek mineral notes are balanced by a rounded mid-palate and slight oakiness with a long, pure fruit finish. Winery

  • Winemaker Notes - Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio is the benchmark by which all other Pinot Grigios are judged. Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio was named the leading Italian wine and continues to be requested by name. Its crisp, elegant character makes it versatile for a wide array of cuisines. Budbreak came later with the 2009 vintage than usual because of rain and snow that extended into late winter. This was followed by excellent weather in the spring that caused the vines to flower early. August turned out to be hotter than average, resulting in picking beginning ahead of schedule. The decision to harvest was made based on capturing the grapes at their ideal acidity and aromatic levels. The 2009 vintage displays its signature sensory profile, along with fragrant aromatics and freshness on the palate.
