Aged 15 years, the Reserve du domaine was originally reserved for the Barbancourt family and their friends. Today its incomparable flavor has become a veritable institution in the world of connoisseurs. Unlike industrial rum made from the fermentation of molasses, a by-product of the production of cane sugar, Rhum Barbancourt is an agricultural rum, rum made from fermented sugar cane juice. Rhum Barbancourt is aged in Limousin oak barrels in the Domaine’s chais, and it is in these oak barrels that Rhum Barbancourt expresses its unique flavor and bouquet; a subtle blending of Haiti’s sun and soil.
